Carlos Terrazas: Alumni Spotlight
Meet Carlos Terrazas from El Paso, Texas, who was a member of University of Arizona's Wheelchair Basketball team from 2013 to 2016.
One of Carlos’s favorite memories at Arizona was the time spent traveling as a team and building camaraderie along the way. For him, being part of the team meant learning discipline, staying committed to a goal, and balancing the demands of academics and athletics while earning his degree from the University of Arizona.
Since graduating, Carlos has continued an impressive journey. He worked at the Disability Resource Center before earning a Master’s in Public Policy from the University of Cambridge in the UK. From there, he worked with the United Nations in London and now works for McDonald’s Corporation at their headquarters in Chicago, Illinois.
His advice to current players? Take your academics just as seriously as your athletics and network with everyone you meet, you never know who might help you land a life-changing opportunity. The lessons Carlos learned on the court continue to shape his career today. Understanding why certain plays were chosen and how different personnel impacted game situations taught him to stay curious, think strategically, and lead with purpose.
